Brazilian exports of chemicals totaled US$ 10.4bn in 2009
Exports of Brazilian chemical products totaled $10.4 billion in 2009, 12.2% less than 2008, while imports plunged 25.5% and summed to $26.1 billion. The impact of the financial crisis over prices and demand for chemical products internationally cut the Brazilian trade deficit for the sector by 32.3%.


2008 Net sales increased 17.9%
The Brazilian chemical industry net sales achieved record US$ 122.0 billions, 17.9% above the value of the previous year. The industrial chemical net sales reached US$ 61.2 billion, which represented 50% of the total.
